Welcome to the Department of Mathematics and Statistics (DMS) at Université de Montréal.

The Department was founded over fifty years ago. Today it has a faculty of over 40 professors specialized in pure and applied mathematics, statistics and actuarial science.

We offer a BA Specialization in any of these fields or a BA combining a major and a minor in these or related fields such as physics, economics, computer science or demography. There are about 500 undergraduate students in our BA programs and close to one hundred graduate students from all over the world who are currently registered in the Master’s and Doctorate programs.

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics is very active in research and has close ties with the Centre de recherches mathématiques (CRM) and the Institut des sciences mathématiques (ISM). It also features the most up-to-date computer equipment.
